CELEBRATION
This community wide celebration will include Dr. King's speeches, singers, dancers, tours of the Richardson School, and recipients of the National Youth Community Service Awards. ABOUT THE RICHARDSON AVENUE SCHOOL...
Originally constructed as a Masonic Hall, this building served as a school for eleven years, where its limited accommodations resulted in teachers and children enduring many hardships and inconveniences.
In 1998, the Richardson Avenue School was listed on the State and National register of Historic sites
BECOME A PARTNER. A SPONSOR, A PARTICIPANT New
Destiny Ministries; HELP, Inc.; Hall Community Endeavors, ,Inc; and other local
organizations are teaming up to host a local celebration. We are asking local
pastors and churches to partner with us to celebrate this great preacher
who spear- headed the civil rights movement. We hope that you will choose to
participate.
HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE? 1. Pray for the program’s success. 2. Provide transportation for members of your church, particularly young people, to attend this celebration. 3. Nominate a student to receive the National Community service award. (See the attached flyer) 4. Advertise this event in your church bulletin, newsletter, etc. (See the attached flyer) . 5. Make a financial contribution to offset the costs for this program 6. Participate in the program. 7. Become a sponsoring church
